Project Description: Amend the Local Coastal Program Land Use Plan to allow the proposed revitalization of the Commercial Core and establish new land use designations and boundaries throughout the harbor; expand allowable development by approx. 153,000 sq. ft. to include +7,300 sq. ft. retail and +50,000 sq. ft. restaurnats, hotel expansions with conference facilities, and other
expanded uses; modify parking requirements; increase height limits to allow for 65 ft. tall dry
stack storage building for 400 boats.

 
Entitlement
Objectives:

Built a strong Community Support Base.
Created a Community Outreach Support Group, "Dana Point Harbor Now"
to include web site, newsletter, logo, brochures, and registered over 2300 supporters.
Organized and brought over 100 supporters to two Coastal Commission hearings
which provided the Commission with support fro a unanimous approval.
Approval of LCP/LUP through the California Coastal Commission Process.

 
Results: Client obtained unanimous approval of all entitlement objectives.
